CITY FOOTBALL GROUP City Football Group has awarded a three-year contract to OCS for the Etihad Stadium, home to Manchester City Football Club, the City Football Academy, and its London office sites. The contract started on the 11th of January 2016 and includes cleaning, waste management, pest control, hygiene, and window cleaning services.

Following its expansion in 2015, the Etihad Stadium has a capacity of over 55,000, making it the third largest stadium in the Premier League and eighth largest in the UK. It was originally built to host the 2002 Commonwealth Games and has since been the venue for the 2008 UEFA Cup Final and a host venue for the 2015 Rugby World Cup. The stadium is known as one of the nation’s best, not only in terms of size but also of facilities. Facilities at the stadium include a kitchen providing up to 6,000 meals on match-days across six restaurants, conference suites and press rooms.

ONE AT FACILICOM There’s been no resting on his laurels for last year’s British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) Rising Star award winner, Jose Damian, who works at soft support services and contract cleaning specialists, Facilicom UK. Following his accolade last year, he has recently been promoted to area manager – his second promotion since joining the company in 2012.

Jose started working for Facilicom as a Site Supervisor and his diligence and positive work ethic stood out, meaning he was quickly noticed by Facilicom’s management team. In January 2014, he was promoted to

Jose was nominated for the 2015 BICSc Rising Star award, which he then won having been recognised for ‘having substantially grown in his role in a relatively short period of time and having accomplished improvements to the cleaning service on his contracts’.

He continued to excel in his role, motivating colleagues and working closely with his clients to ensure the best possible service at all times, leading to his latest promotion. In his new position as Area Manager, Jose looks after his own portfolio of clients.
