54 new this spring - jewellery at baxters

“lots to inspire you whether you are looking for a gift or something to spoil yourself.”

S

arah at Baxters in Foss St has always sold a wide range of contemporary designer jewellery but with

the closure of her friend Trish Thomas’ shop she has decided to extend the range and show some of the jewellers previously sold by Trish. You will now be able to find Les Grimshaw’s beautiful rings, John Garland Taylor’s fabulous polished bangles, earrings and pen- dants and Xuella Arnold’s wonderfully magical pieces in Baxters. This brings the number of different quality design- er maker jewellers at Baxters to 21. All pieces are

handmade in the UK and there is a wide variety of styles and materials on show, many being unique. As well as the nor- mal materials you may expect, you will find acrylic, enamelling, aluminium, glass, felt, resin, copper, titanium and recycled silver. It’s like a treasure trove with lots to inspire you whether you are looking for a gift or something to spoil yourself. There are semi-precious stone and silver necklaces

by Tessa Sambrook and Roberta Hopkins to treat and silver, gold and precious stone rings ideal for weddings and engagements. Prices start at affordable levels and Sarah and Jayne are happy to help with special orders in different sizes.

POSTCARDS FROM DARTMOUTH

Buy a ticket and be assured of winning an original painting– but which painting!?

If you are an art lover you should know about a fun, new event at the Flavel. ‘Postcards from Dartmouth’.

In the past, it was organised by the Dart Gallery but is now returning due to popular demand, to the Flavel Art Centre.

From 4th – 29th May you can view over 50 stunning

original paintings in all mediums, from more than 25 professional artists (some are currently exhibiting at the Dart Gallery and Baxters Gallery) . These artists are generously donating postcard-sized original paintings for the event one of which you win with your ticket.

Tickets are £35 and we will only sell as many as we have original paintings so if you buy a draw ticket you are guaranteed to win a little masterpiece.

But which one? Indeed!

The “reveal” will be at a drinks reception to which all artists and ticket holders will be invited (Friday 29th May, 5.30pm-6.30pm), when tickets will be matched with paintings through a random draw.

This is a fundraising event for your Flavel so please join in for some fun and support a good cause.
