OUR cricket season is moving into its final stages. One recurrent theme has been weather related cancelled matches costing the Club possible points. However, we are optimistic that a runners- up place and promotion can be achieved! After the euphoria of the Cricket World Cup the real- ity of an Ashes series versus the Australians is now with our Na-
tional team and so is the rain. Let us hope Joe Root's men can turn things around after the lst Test disappointment. Results: Sudbury 167- 6. Sax- mundham 168-0

ANGLIAN ENERGY PLANNING ALLIANCE
Clean energy is vital if the UK is to respond to our climate emergency. But private en- ergy companies must not be allowed to put profit before the environment. Here in East Suf- folk private power companies are proposing to build 7 mas- sive energy infrastructure pro- jects that would destroy miles of internationally recognised AONB woodland, species-rich meadows, marshland and rare lowland heathland (one of the World’s rarest habitats), as well as the fragile eco-systems that depend on them. EDF - 2 giant new nuclear reac- tors at Sizewell C the size of 300 football pitches. They propose to add an extra £6 per year to eve- ryone's energy bills for the next 10 years to help pay for it. Scottish Power Renewables - 2 massive power buildings, tower- ing over the local church – with a footprint the size of Wembley Stadium - and a grid connector, with the main power cable mak- ing landfall 6 miles away on an unstable beach. National Grid Ventures - 2 giant buildings for European Intercon-
nectors Nautilus and Eurolink. Same landfall area as SPR. Galloper & Greater Gabbard will also require massive new onshore infrastructure nearby lengthening and multiplying the devastating cumulative effects to the area. These projects will take 12-15 years to build & take place con- currently. There are viable, alternative solutions to all of these propos- als but in the absence of any strategic plan from Government they are not being considered. We need: 1. Proper planning by Government and National Grid 2. Politicians to act now to pro- tect this area before it's too late. 3. How you can help - Please go to our website for more infor- mation and a list of suggested individuals and organisations to contact. The Anglian Energy Planning Alliance is dedicated to raising public awareness of the cumula- tive impact of all these energy proposals. Please follow us and support our efforts to #StopTheEnergyMad- ness
