community with the Martin Bergen Award, so named for philanthropist and business leader in Winnipeg. Mr. Ber- gen came to Canada in 1953, a penniless immigrant during the turbulent years post World War II and through integ- rity, strength of character, and determination, he built an exceptional and strong legacy through his philanthropy and loyalty to his new home – Canada. As a strong supporter of Concordia, he leſt a lasting imprint and impact on the community as the hospital has grown to include Concordia Place, Concordia Wellness Projects, Concordia Villages, Concordia Hip and Knee Institute.
