With over 700 members, there are now 35 groups offering a wide range of activities, artistic, crafts, dance, languages, as well as physical activities, that fully meet the ambition of the U3A - to live, laugh and learn. Our more popular groups include Ballroom Dancing, Fell Walking and Science and Technology. Other activities include Art, Card Making, Digital Photography, Early Music, Latin, Quilting, Creative Writing and many more. We also currently have two tutor-led groups, for Tai Chi and Yoga.

The 20th Anniversary week is launched at 2.00pm prompt on Monday, 8th October, at Lorton Street Methodist Hall, when the week will be officially opened by the Mayor of Allerdale, John Crouch. We will then spend the afternoon in the company of BBC Radio Cumbria’s popular presenter, Joe Costin.
