Our feet are incredible!

Made up of 100 moveable parts, including 26 bones and 20 muscles, they are a masterpiece of natural engineering. We take them for granted and as we only have one pair we owe them more attention. A Podiatrist is the expert in feet.

Each year, the College of Podiatry have Foot Health Month and that is our opportunity to educate and advise the public including other medical professionals about our role in treating foot complications.

The awareness campaign runs throughout June, to highlight the importance of foot health, of checking and taking care of our feet and of course visiting an HCPC registered podiatrist with any pain or problems.

Walking advocate, charity campaigner and TV presenter Julia Bradbury is known for her passion for the outdoors and has hosted some of our favourite programmes. Her own walking series over the years include the stunning Wainwright Walks and Coast to Coast in the Lake District. Julia is the keynote speaker at the College of Podiatry Conference in November in Bournemouth and a supporter of our work to promote foot health this June in Foot Health Month.

She says: “Walking means so much to me and I believe it’s vital both for health and for emotional wellbeing. As a walker, I rely on and respect my feet and know how important it is to take care of them. A visit to my podiatrist is a part of my health and fitness routine and helps me keep my feet in prime condition.

“I’m delighted to support the College of Podiatry’s Foot Health Month.”

Look out for us in the media and social media throughout June - follow #FootHealthMonth2018

If you require any advice regarding foot pain or complications, just give us a call on 01900 826980 and we will be able to help.
