HELLO Friends. Christian Aid 2018 with Emmanuel and Holy Trinity. The last planned event for this year’s fundraising was the Quiz with Sausage and Mash Supper on Saturday 9th June. Full details of the monies raised this year will be available next month. On Sunday 27th May however we had a wonderful social event in the church with music provided by the Waveney Valley Brass Ensemble and a very talented pianist who accompanied our community hymn singing at the end. Never before have I heard ‘Hey Jude’ sung with such fervour, at least not in a church. Many thanks to all who entertained us with amusing readings and friends and families from the town who came and supported us. The afternoon was rounded off with splendid cream teas served in the Orange Hall. The Christian Aid Committee deserve a pat on the back for all their hard work

wonderful weekend at the end of May with our friends from Hel- levoetsluis. Our inter-church exchange has now been in oper- ation for over 30 years. The final effort by the Dutch Exchange Committee to help fund these events will be a two course fund- raising lunch in the Orange Hall at 12.30pm on Sunday 24th June. Tickets are available from the church, price £6. The food is


usually delicious at these meals so do come along and join us. Early Notice - Please note that


our former Minister Revd John Simpson will be paying us a return visit and preaching at Emmanuel at Morning Worship at 10.45am on Sunday 8th July. All who can remember John are welcome to join us on that occa- sion. Stay and have a coffee and a chat after the service. Stay happy and healthy in
