Ministry Guide:

Flower Delivery First in a series on ministries that can help you live God’s love BY LINDSAY HARREN-LEWIS

Every Sunday the flowers that grace our sanctuary for worship are made into smaller bouquets and delivered to members or friends of our congregation experiencing a particular celebration, loss, or health issue.

On Sunday mornings a flower administrator (a member of the congregation) calls the people who are listed to receive the flowers to make sure they will be home that afternoon to receive them. After the traditional worship service, the flower administrator and a team of deliverers gather in the kitchen to create the bouquets, attaching the morning's bulletin and a card. Tey then bring those flowers to the homes or hospital rooms of those who will receive them.

What a wonderful way to show God's love and help connect what’s happening in the life of our congregation and worship with those who are unable to be with us!

We are always looking for more people to help us with this ministry! If you are interested in serving in this way, please contact me at lindsay.harren-lewis@ fpcallentown.org or 610-395-3781, or email Stuart Dubbs at stuartdubbs@ gmail.com.

1. Beautiful floral arrangements for worship in our sanctuary enjoy a second life as a ministry to our church family. 2 and 3. Members and friends separate flowers and rearrange them into multiple bouquets that can be brought to those celebrating a joy, experiencing a loss, or dealing with a health issue. 4. Volunteers transport flowers after services conclude. 5. Flowers are delivered personally to recipients with a note on behalf of the church.
