ITALIAN COUNTRYSIDE • Sicily E Trapani Area TC Farmhouse 16 (Trapani)

This ancient "baglio" is situated in eastern Sicily, only 5kms from Trapani. From here you can visit many interesting sites: the small medieval town of Erice, the Temple of Segesta and the Theatre of Selinunte, the "via del sale" (road used in the Roman era for the commerce of salt) with its mills and salt-works, the island of Pantelleria, etc. The typical pale-pink Siclian building is built around a spacious courtyard which is the centre of farm life and is surrounded by the original granaries, stables and warehouses now restored to house several comfortable apartments all traditionally furnished and beautifully set among gardens and centuries' old pine- woods, olive trees and orange and lemon groves. Here, Totò, Laura and Gaetano warmly welcome their guests in true friendly Sicilian fashion and look forward to enjoying the excellent cuisine together in the evening. A beautiful swimming pool (14 x 7 m. - open Apr./Oct.) and other sports' facilities are available including mini-soccer field, bowling, volleyball and children's playground; free internet wi-fi in the reception area. It is virtually impossible to resist the exquisite specialities prepared with the farm's own produce and local products. The farm cultivates vegetables, fruit and olives and produces jams, marmalades and preserves.
