ALL THE LATEST NEWS, VIEWS AND STORIES FROM AROUND YOUR LOCAL AREA:SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER COUP FOR CUMBRIA

AS SOLO ARTIST PAUL DRAWS UP

Keswick’s Treeby & Bolton Gallery will be the venue this autumn for Paul Horton’s first ever public appearance to launch a new collection of work as a self-published artist.

Paul, who has been painting and successfully exhibiting his work for more than 40 years, will be at the Gallery in Lake Road, on Saturday 7th October with a collection of new limited-edition prints, as well as some original sketches and oils on canvas.

Having established

himself as one of the most popular artists of his generation, Paul has become renowned for a wonderful array of characters and street scenes, offering universal themes that appeal to people of all ages.

Bridge To My Heart

Launched this summer, his ‘Keys To The World’ collection was his first as

a self-published artist but he did not make any public appearances to promote it. That debut collection of six limited-edition prints has already been a huge success with collectors, marking the start of a new chapter in Paul’s career after many years working with fine art publishers.

His new autumn collection will be launched at Treeby & Bolton, where he will make a personal appearance from 1.00pm until 4.00pm. Four beautiful new limited-edition prints will be unveiled, alongside exclusive sketches and original oils on canvas.

DEBUT APPEARANCE BY PAUL HORTON

AT TREEBY & BOLTON Where Time Stands Still

Visitors will be able to meet Paul and talk to him about his work, both past and present, throughout the afternoon. Refreshments will be served at the Gallery, which also has a cafe.

Paul’s autumn releases as limited-edition prints are Where Time Stands Still, The Colour Of Love and When I’m With You, along with a football-themed piece called Match Of The Day. The first piece is also being released on varnished canvas board, which will be on display at Keswick.

Libbie Barton, manager at Treeby & Bolton, said: “Paul’s latest collection of work is so new that it hadn’t even been given a name when he confirmed he’d be coming but I’ve seen images and they look fantastic.

“We are so proud to be the first gallery to showcase his new collection and to have Paul here too for his first event as a self-published artist really is such a huge coup for us and for Cumbria. It’s great to be able to give people this special opportunity to meet Paul and have him sign their art.”

As well as the new autumn collection, several pieces from Paul’s successful summer series will also be exhibited at Treeby & Bolton, including Bridge To My Heart, Riding The Waves, Reach Out For Love, A Gift For Vincent, Sweet Bird Of Fortune and Sunshine Day, along with a selection of originals.
