FIX BREXIT NOW!

scorn poured on it by large sections of the population, many within its own party and practically all politicians not in the Government. With the next General Election in 2022, we could therefore see an even greater shambles unfolding as a new Government attempts to revisit our settlement with the EU.

For once in the last 5 years, it is about time the Prime Minister acted in the national

interest instead of the interests of a minority but highly vocal, segment of her party. Brexit should be put in charge of a small but capable group, comprising politicians of all the main parties’ pro-rata to the share in popular vote in 2017. A team of all the talents.

This means that any deals struck, will be very difficult for any future Government to backtrack from, having been part of the deal-making process. In the short term, it also means that the United Kingdom will front up in negotiations with a credible team commanding the respect of the EU, which will clearly be a step change forward from where we are now.
