Cockermouth Travel ran a ‘Guess How Many Luggage Label’s In The Pot’ competition at Cockermouth Show to raise money for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

The winning prize was a £500 holiday voucher donated by Cockermouth Travel and Jet2 holidays. Entrants were asked to make a donation and they raised £298, which was topped up to £500 by Cockermouth Travel.

Owner, Paul Cusack said: “This is just one of the many ways in which we try to put something back in to the community.

“Hospice at Home is an inspirational organisation, which does amazing job in this part of the county.”

JOSH’S RIDE TO THE SUN

Josh Hewer has been on his bike, once again raising money for charity by cycling an amazing 102 miles from Carlisle to Edinburgh.

He completed ‘Ride to the Sun’ cycling challenge in 7 hours 40 minutes, raising £965 for the Team Evie Charity.

Josh set off from Carlisle, cycling through the night, before arriving at Cramond Beach near Edinburgh just before sunrise at 4.30am the next morning.

He would like to thank everyone who sponsored and encouraged him.
