HOT FINGERS RETURN TO THRELKELD

By popular demand, Hot Fingers will be returning to the stage at Threlkeld.

Hot Fingers welcomes you to an eclectic mix of vintage acoustic music. As well as the red-hot Jazz of ’20s New York, there will be sophisticated ’30s Swing. They

re-create the ‘French Coffee House’ sound of the king of gypsy swing Django Reinhardt, the blues guitars of Eddie Lang and Lonnie Johnson and the syncopated Latin rhythms of Argentinean Oscar Aleman. The trio of Spats Langham, Danny Blyth and Malcolm Sked will be accompanied by superb vocalist Emily Campbell.

The event will be at Threlkeld Village Hall on Friday 8th September at 8.00pm. Tickets £12.00 (£6.00 U18s) available from Village Hall Coffee Shop, Village PO, or online at www.threlkeldvillagehall.org/whats-on. Doors and bar open at 7.15pm. Box Office enquiries 07733 790308.

WE WILL BE THE GENERATION THAT SEE THE WORLD CHANGE

In the wake of the industrial revolution, a young man begins his mission to advance and improve world for the benefit of everyone, whilst a young woman stands in the street to call for a voice for all. Revolution is a play that explores the unseen individuals who have helped change the world.

At the end of August, Wyldwood Theatre Company returns with its sixth production Revolution. The cast, with ages ranging from 14 to 25, have produced, directed and choreographed this original production for over two months. The show also features some original music, composed by cast member Owen Evans, who has also composed the company soundtrack for The Dream Child, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Ivenway.

Wyldwood Theatre Company was founded in 2014 by fellow students Imogen Barnfather, Miriam Ulyatt and Hannah Lewis, aiming to produce performances of a professional standard from a group of young amateur actors. This is Wyldwood’s fourth original production after The Blood Between Us, The

Dream Child, Ivenway and Wyldwood. They have also performed adaptations of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Revolution is being performed on the 30th and 31st August, at the John Peel Theatre, Wigton and on the 2nd and 3rd September, at the

Kirkgate 826448, or by Centre, Cockermouth. Tickets for the

Cockermouth performances are available from the Kirkgate Centre Box Office on 01900

visiting www.thekirkgate.com.

Tickets for the Wigton performances are available from Easton’s, 7 High Street, Wigton on 016973 42521, or by visiting www.ticketsource.co.uk/wigtontheatre.
