We all want to maintain our independence for as long as possible as we get older, but it is not always easy to find what services are available, to make that possible. So to help people find the services they need, Age Concern Hampshire, with funding from Hants County Council, has established a network of Village Agents throughout the county. I was chosen in 2013 to be Milford‐on‐Sea’s village agent.

Since taking up my role in 2013, I have been able to help well over 200 people in Milford with a wide variety of problems. These have included accessing benefits such as Aendance Allowance, for those

with connuing care needs, having smoke detectors fied, enabling those unable to get to a library to borrow books and helping people to use email and the internet. These are just a few examples ‐ I get asked a very wide range of quesons!

If you think I can help you, please get in touch any me.

I can be contacted on 01590 645 404 or milfordonseava@ageconcernhampshire.org.uk

With lots of warm sunny weather, interspersed with the occasional shower, trees and hedges have sprung into life with a vengeance this summer. Whilst this is lovely for avid gardeners, it can cause problems if you have a hedge on your property that borders the road or footpath. This can cause problems, with pedestrians being unable to pass easily, as well as drivers having their sightline of the

road obscured. Therefore to prevent accidents and incidents, the Parish Council ask that all residents keep their hedges and trees well pruned. If you noce an overgrown tree or hedge, contact the County Council who can take the maer up with the property owner – this can be done easily online: www.hants.gov.uk and click on the “Report a road problem”. You can then select from a variety of issues including tree or hedge problems,

potholes and paving issues. Enter in a few quick details and the County Council will invesgate and act accordingly.
