LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

In English we have only one word for love; the ancient Greeks had six:

Eros = romantic love Philia = deep friendship Ludus = playful love Agape = love for everyone or charity Pragma = longstanding love and Philautia = love of self (can be good or bad).

In this Valentine issue we honor and explore all types of love. See if you can identify which types are central to each story and photo spread.

Of all the types of love, I believe charity is the most important. It helps us see the best in others, helps us serve each other, and gives us the strength to make positive changes. Malala (pg. 18) represents charity in an extraordinary way. While you read her story and the others in this issue, contemplate how they inspire you to become more than you already are. Find your passion, and use it to better the world. We would love to know your story! Tag us in your photos with #pristeenlove and show us how you are making your corner of the world a better place. We just might contact you and tell YOUR story!

With agape,

Jennifer working her magic!
