SAUNAS

Barrello outdoor saunas have been busy with a marked increase in the outdoor sauna market this year

THE IMPORTANCE OF DESIGN FROM PRESTIGE SAUNAS Available through Prestige Saunas, Kung Saunas have moved away from the old style Pine or Aspen clad sauna and the use of glass now brings the sauna from an object hidden away to the focal point of the room. For the last 40 years, Switzerland based Kung Saunas have been producing designed saunas to allow people to move away from the norm and install objects that create a place of enjoyment. With many features only available on Kung Saunas like Biosa Sauna where the interior humidity can be computer controlled allowing multi-climate heat, sprung loaded benches for greater comfort and also the use of glass, tile and a multitude of different timbers they are now the leaders in sauna design and install. Design is important, what is around the sauna or visual views outside to the garden, this is becoming a more popular install these days integrating the outside in the sauna and Kung have mastered the art of bringing a sauna into everyday use. With the rise of basement installs, long gone are the square box sauna, along with Kung saunas, Prestige Saunas can design and install some truly amazing units which use limited space allowing greater bench set outs and providing a place of rest from everyday stresses. Kung Saunas have installed some amazing

stand-alone units, being one of the leaders in this field with units like the Kung Swing and Outdoor free unit. This brings the sauna back to an age when most saunas where installed in the garden in Finland offering the user the ability to use, then swim or roll in the snow afterwards. Of course, the company are still able to produce the Aspen clad sauna that people still relate to but now interior designers and pool designers are seeing that their wellness side is lacking inspiration and they can change that.

CASE STUDY Demanding Devon Sauna Project No Sweat With Tylö

Sauna installers in Devon have successfully completed one of their most challenging projects to date – the installation of a glass-fronted sauna in a luxury home. The difficult part; with severely limited access, any materials had to be carried from a quayside far below, with en route challenges including narrow stone stairways, doorways, and a steep incline. And, if that wasn’t hard enough, the whole project had to be completed fast. Fortunately, the company tasked with the project, Leisurequip, are a leading dealer for Golden Coast, suppliers of Tylö saunas. Working closely, the two companies were able to select the perfect product for the job.

Jamie Adams, Managing Director of www.swimmingpoolnews.co.uk

Golden Coast, said: “It was certainly a demanding brief. Not only was the site hard to access, but the building contractor in charge of the larger project was on a tight

schedule for the project handover, so we needed to get this sorted fast. Given the time and access restrictions, we provided Leisurequip with a perfect solution: a Tylö E2417 Evolve GF. Prefabricated, this stunning sauna kit could be carried onto the site in pieces and, once there, assembled quickly and easily.”

The installers handballed the glass- fronted sauna up the steep site and assembled it over a two day period. Once electricity was supplied to build they returned to apply the finishing touches; wiring and commissioning it, ready for immediate use by its new owners. With its views across a picturesque Devonshire countryside and estuary, the finished sauna made a fitting addition to the luxury home.
