HIGH DEMAND FROM CHESHIRE WELLNESS Tiled spas and swim spas have been a popular product at Cheshire Wellness for the last 25 years and the company has found the versatility in shell design and specification has always been a winning factor for clients wanting a personalised hydrotherapy product. The beauty of finishing a spa or swim spa with mosaics or large format tiles enables the product to complement any interior design or the aesthetics of a room, be that indoor or outdoor. The tiles themselves provide infinite choice and a longer lasting, more durable surface. Another important factor in choosing one of their prefabricated tiled products is a drastically reduced installation programme time compared to a concrete pool, spa or swim spa as the products are all completed

Before – Heavy commercial use of an acrylic spa left this shell leaking, a common problem experienced by spa owners

and tested in their ISO 9001 accredited factory. At Cheshire Wellness, they have a few firm favourites. Their most popular curved-end swim spa provides timeless elegance and is a huge success in mainland Europe. An outdoor swim spa at a hotel in France is very popular and creates the perfect atmosphere. Another stunning design is the ‘infinity spa’, finished in large format natural stone and mosaic combination. They recently completed a great renovation project for one of their national clients, replacing a leaking acrylic spa with a new bespoke mosaic tiled spa. It’s amazing the difference a fresh tiling design can bring to a spa. As they are able to create all of their prefabricated spas at their factory, this meant that no

building works were required on site for the client, with no interruptions for their clients’ use of the facilities.

After – A prefabricated tiled GRP replacement, made to measure at Cheshire Wellness’ ISO accredited factory, finished with the Danube Harmonie ceramic tile

In terms of latest technologies, they’re a fan of the River Jets in swim spas, a market alternative to the Endless Pool option. The River Jets look more compact in the swim spa and complements the aesthetics of their designs.

CASE STUDY Certikin Spa Headlines At The Headland!

When it comes to wellness equipment, nobody does it better than Certikin as The Headland Hotel in Newquay, one of South-West England’s most popular hotels, will testify. Overlooking Fistral Beach in picturesque Newquay, The Headland Hotel has earned itself a reputation for being a haven of calm and tranquillity, bordered as it is by the soothing sight of the Atlantic Ocean. It is this quality that the owners wanted to capture when it came to the refurbishment of its existing pool with the addition of an impressive wellness suite.

The hotel turned to the services of specialist pool builders of over 13 years standing in the South West, Apex Pool Engineers Ltd of Goonhavern and it was they who recommended the highly sought-after Tranquillity Wellness range from Certikin. Every detail was considered to ensure

maximum relaxation and pampering. Making a stunning attraction is a 3m diameter overflow tiled one-piece spa with double clusters of jets and air.

The Certikin tiled spa is a popular choice for commercial leisure facilities as all the work is done in the factory so there are no stoppages for curing etc. The spas can be tiled in a vast range of tile options allowing

the spa to match the pool or client’s chosen decor. A rigorous air and water testing regime is undertaken prior to the spas leaving the factory. Installation is very quick with all fittings remaining accessible for maintenance. It wasn’t necessary on this project but all Certikin tiled spas can be split for ease of access making them ideal for new builds and refurbishment projects. A Certikin spa control panel was also installed. Paul Heather of Apex Engineers says: “This is the first time that we have installed the Certikin one- piece tiled spa and it went in like a dream. Throughout the whole project, we worked closely with Certikin’s Commercial division, and in particular Steve Nelson. He was first class in his recommendation of equipment and advice with any installation issues.”
