Bo is a Walker Coonhound-Doberman mix who has been competing in dock diving for about three years. In February at The Shell Factory & Nature Park in Fort Myers, he broke his own world record in the extreme vertical jump during the 12th Annual Gumbo Fest. He jumped eight feet, six inches. Crystal McClaran of Cape Coral adopted Bo in 2010 from animal services in South Carolina. “He was with a litter found under a trailer in Beaufort,” said Crystal. The Extreme Vertical event is considered the most difficult. Dogs take a running start and leap to snatch a target bumper hanging more than eight feet off the water. Bo has, so far, set seven world records. Vicki Tighe, Aqua Dog owner at The Shell Factory has been running Dock Dogs sanctioned events for three years. Bo was one of her first champions. Suncoast Dock Dogs is one of 39 Dock Dogs clubs in the United States, Canada, Australia and England. For more information on how you and your dog can

become involved, call Vicki Tighe at 239.464.1859 or email her at aquadog@dockdogs.com. The facility is located at The Shell Factory, 2787 North Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers. dock- dogs.com/aqua-dog.html
