SPATEX’S NEW MIDLANDS HOME GETS THE THUMBS UP

Following a successful Open Day held earlier in the year at the shows new home for 2014 – Coventry’s Ricoh Arena – SPATEX recently reported that stand bookings for the 2014 Exhibition were running at an unprecedented high, with 75% of stand space already having been sold. The Show’s Organiser, Michele Bridle said: “Exhibitors are recognising that the Ricoh Arena has so much to offer. First and foremost, the Jaguar Exhibition Hall is a purpose-built exhibition centre, so unloading, setting up and loading are all incredibly straight-forward. Its central location, just 500 yards off the M6 and within two hours commuting time of 75% of the population, means that it is also very easy to get to, wherever you are. When you arrive there’s no hunting around for car parking spaces – there’s 2,000 free spaces onsite surrounding the Jaguar Exhibition Hall for both exhibitors and visitors. “SPATEX is much more than just an exhibition. It is famous for providing an unparalleled networking arena. With the facilities of the Ricoh Arena at our disposal we have a whole host of new and exciting entertainment possibilities. The on-site G Casino - the UK’s largest and most luxurious casino - will doubtless provide a focus. Entertainment will be provided through-out the three-day Exhibition and on the Sunday

evening, the SPATA and BISHTA Awards Gala Dinner will be held in the impressive E.ON Lounge overlooking the stadium.” Michele adds: “We are currently working on a very attractive package for exhibitors which includes free Wi-Fi and refreshments in the Exhibitor’s Lounge, free parking and special lifting rates. Watch this space for further details.” With the backing of all the major distributors, SPATEX will be holding a unique dedicated Leisure Operator’s Day on Tuesday 4 February, consisting of valuable training and workshops for managers and leisure operators. In addition, the Technical Workshop Programme, organised by the ISPE (Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers), will focus on a wide range of current and highly relevant subjects, with an emphasis on saving money, energy and water.

UK POOL & SPA EXPO PLANS EXPANSION FOR 2014

UK Pool & Spa Expo continues to develop and welcome new exhibitors, supporting partners and encourage new visitors to their 2014 event, designed to target the whole of the UK wet leisure and associated sectors. Held at the NEC, Birmingham, the show offers both UK and international companies a professional platform to meet and attracts a high level audience of including architects, local authorities, hoteliers, leisure centre’s and health clubs, spa owners, schools, parks and attractions, colleges, dealers, pool builders and installers, retailers, manufacturers, distributors, property developers and more. Running slightly later in the month for 2014, dates have been set for the 20 to 22 February in Pavilion Halls 1 & 2 of the NEC, Birmingham. Organisers say that moving to these new halls will allow them to double the size of their 2013 event and they are looking to completely fill these halls and early indications suggest this will be more than achievable.

Launched in 2013, the UK Pool & Spa Expo was designed to strengthen the UK pool and spa sector, targeting key industry sectors to attend the event, building databases, raising the profile of this industry and the products and services it has to offer.
