STA PARTNERSHIP TO BRING NEW POOL FEATURE TO LIW 2013 Taking place from 24 to 26 September at Birmingham’s NEC, Pool & Spa at Leisure Industry Week (LIW) is the annual meeting place for the UK’s commercial pool and spa professionals. From underwater treadmills to filtration systems to water play features, visitors find fresh ideas for their facilities. The exhibition has recently announced an official partnership with STA.

The three year agreement will see the STA host the STA Swim Zone within the exhibition, which will showcase a range of exciting events throughout the duration of the show. Visitors will be able to see a number of swimming, lifesaving and pool plant live demonstrations, as well as hear from some of UK’s leading suppliers of aquatic services and products to the leisure industry – all designed to show leisure operators how they can further maximise revenue from their pool facility. Event Manager, David Sanvoisin said:

“We’re delighted to be working with the STA on bringing an interactive pool feature to the show floor. We’ve enjoyed an excellent relationship with the STA in recent years and look forward to developing that further as we enhance the pool and spa provision that LIW has to offer.”

Theo Millward, STA’s Operations Director said: “LIW is the industry’s biggest show, so we are thrilled to be able to partner with the show organisers and launch the STA Swim Zone. We are organising an exciting programme of live events for the three days, including baby and children’s swimming lessons, equipment master classes, pool plant operations, lifesaving, exercising in water and much more.

The interactivity of the STA Swim Zone will add a real buzz to the Pool & Spa zone, as well as provide visitors with ideas on they can further maximise their pool space and increase revenue.”

The full programme for the STA Swim Zone will be announced in the coming weeks.

WAVES EXPO PROVIDES GATEWAY TO RAPIDLY GROWING INDIAN MARKET With two successful editions now completed, the 3rd edition of WAVES Pool Spa Bath Expo will be taking place 18-20 September 2013 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The exhibition is India’s only international B2B event which brings together architects, landscape architects, interior designers, developers, hoteliers, retailers, dealers, pool and spa builders, wellness professionals, fitness enthusiasts, health clubs, spa

centres and affluent customers (HNIs) from all over India and the world for face-to- face interaction, live product demos, vital knowledge seminars and powerful connections. The rapidly growing Indian market offers a lot of opportunities to the UK pool and spa trade. In 2012 over 5,000 new swimming pools were built in India and experts predict within 5 years the industry will cross 20,000 new pools per year. Currently there are approximately 3,000 spas spread across the country and the Indian growth rate is estimated at 20-30%.

As the country develops, so too does the need for facilities that and luxuries that are common place in the west and other more established nations, but already the overall beauty and wellness industry is worth a staggering US$2.68bn. There’s good news when it comes to exhibiting at WAVES Expo 2013. Thanks to the many enquires and requests from UK based companies looking to enter the booming market, full UKTI funding is now available. With the assistance of SCS Exhibitions Ltd, the UK industry will have greater access to India’s rapidly expanding wet leisure market. The two countries have always shared strong economic ties and a strategic alliance makes perfect sense. “We understand the importance that India has on the increasingly global market, so to further our commitment to the UK Pool and Spa sector we are excited to offer a fantastic ‘Free of Charge’ package to first time UK exhibitors through our association with the UKTI (UK Trade & Investment). Specifically, we will be offering grant assistance that will cover most, if not all, of the cost to participate at this year’s WAVES Expo. The package will include booth space at the UK Pavilion,
