knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and PLC controlled systems. Roy’s appointment follows the launch of Golden

Coast’s bespoke control panel service which allows installers to fully customise control panels to meet the needs of their businesses and their customers. Golden Coast’s Managing Director Jamie Adams said: “No two customers’ needs are ever the same – no more so than when it comes to control panels. In recent years, we’ve seen more and more installers turn to our engineers for help in meeting their customers’ requirements. “With his technical expertise and years of hands- on experience, Roy is more than capable in ensuring that we will meet every specification and need.” In his new role, Roy will work alongside Andy “Ask Andy” James in creating custom control panels which incorporate an array of specialist options, including: automatic chemical control using the Etatron AG-Select R module, remote control of pumps and blowers in spas or features incorporated within a pool and/or spa facility. A wireless remote control – using radio remote control systems – is also available for installations where laying cables is not possible.

For complete customisation, Golden Coast allows installers the unique opportunity to brand the front of the control panel with their company logo and details – reinforcing their professional image.

BTU’s Norman Enjoys Marathon Effort

After several years of applications, Norman MacMillan, Managing Director of Surrey based BTU Pool Services finally fulfilled a life-long ambition and ran in this year’s London Marathon. Commenting on his run, Norman said: “I must say it was a thoroughly enjoyable day and was glad to get round the course before it started to get dark, just missing out on my target time of 3 hours and 120 minutes! However, the closer you get to the finish the less concerned about the time and are just happy to get to the line. “Anyone who has toyed with the idea should really give it a go as it was a fantastic experience and the crowds, particularly in London are awesome and a constant motivation. The good news for me is that I don’t need to worry about having to run 30-40 miles p/week for a while or refuse take away food etc.

“The good news for you is that it is not too late to make a difference to our brilliant cause Phab Kids. If you would like to learn more about

the charity and the great work it does, and any contribution would be very welcome regardless of amount. See: www.justgiving.com/norman-macmillan “Thanks in advance to anyone who can spare anything and a massive thank you to everyone who has already sponsored me as the response has been amazing.”
