NEWS Multi-million Pound Pool For Academy In Sleaford

A Lincolnshire school is proposing to take the pressure off the town’s flagship leisure centre by constructing its own multi-million pound swimming pool.

Designs are currently with North Kesteven District Council planners for a proposed 25m swimming pool at St George’s Academy in Sleaford. Academy Principal Paul Watson said: “It is going to be a 21st century glass-fronted construction with all mod-cons. “The governors have the money available to finance the scheme. It has not gone out to tender yet but we have estimated it will cost several million pounds to build.” Subject to planning consent, the intention is to start work on the pool this

summer with a view to be completed within 12 months. It will incorporate a large fitness centre, training facilities and a sauna and steam room. Mr Watson added: “We would hope to allow other users such as primary schools, non-swimmer training classes and local swimming clubs also to make use of this community facility. We see this as an asset for the whole of Sleaford.”

If plans go ahead, the bulk of the school swimming training sessions would take place at the new pool, relieving the pressure on daytime sessions at the often overstretched Sleaford Leisure Centre, due to reopen after its own major refurbishment this autumn.

This would allow for more general swimming sessions for the public during the day and the two pools could be complimentary.

Darlly Europe Appoints Golden Coast Exclusive UK Distributor

Golden Coast is delighted to announce another exclusive UK distribution deal: this time with leading filter cartridge manufacturer Darlly Europe. “Darlly is, quite simply, the world’s number one manufacturer of quality filter cartridges,” says Golden Coast’s Managing Director Jamie Adams. “By joining forces with a company equipped to produce more than three million filters a year, whose filtration expertise and technology have been applied in such advanced fields as biopharmaceuticals and microelectronics, as well as water treatment, we will have a formidable product line-up to add to our existing range.” Golden Coast is looking to build on its already strong presence in the spa and hot tub accessory market, which

it supplies through Essentials – Europe’s largest range of pool and spa accessories sold through one supplier. The Darlly products will immediately add more than a hundred different off-the-shelf cartridges to Golden Coast’s range, along with a variety of other filter-related equipment. Speaking in support of this new partnership, a Darlly spokesperson says: “We are very excited to partner with Golden Coast, who we recognise as Europe’s leading pool and spa product supplier. Their vision is streets ahead of others in the wet leisure sector.

“Innovation is the lifeblood of both of our businesses and that is why we invest considerable resources into research, development and product innovation.”

In early 2014, the

manufacturer will open a new 40,000 square metre state-of- the-art facility, which offers high- tech research and development capabilities. A technologically advanced laboratory on site will enable rapid testing and development of products featuring new technologies. “Superior quality and

reliability is inherent in both our products and our service and this is both absolute and universally recognisable: the Darlly logo is a mark of uncompromising standards, quality and achievement. We only use the highest-quality raw materials in our products, including Reemay® filtration media and Microban®

.

“By being ahead of the competition, we are able to gain market share and, with new products, establish ourselves as

market leaders and build brand loyalty. Partnering with Golden Coast endorses these efforts and we look forward very much to working with Jamie and his team,” adds the spokesperson. Jamie Adams concludes: “This appointment is good news for both of our companies. As Britain’s biggest independent supplier of wet leisure products to the trade, and with our existing strength in the spa and hot tub market, we will be able to raise the profile of the Darlly brand in this country. What’s more, our customers will benefit from Darlly’s truly exceptional collection of high-quality products, which are backed by industry-leading guarantees.”
