SPN DEC 2011 Pool&SpaIndustry

www.swimmingpoolnews.co.uk DOTTING THE ‘I’S ON INCENTIVES,

INNOVATIONS AND IDEAS! All the SPATEX 2012 show really needs now is involvement – from exhibitors and visitors, so that the industry can work together to bring about the brightest and best SPATEX ever!

T

ime flies and a great deal of ‘behind the scenes work’ continues to be carried out with ideas abounding on how to ensure future SPATEX shows respond to the desire for change. All efforts at the moment, are being channelled into making sure that SPATEX 2012 will be successful to meet the demands of all exhibitors and visitors. Organisers are still processing the information and investigating what new initiatives could be included to make the perfect recipe for a SPATEX 2012 splash hit. One visitor who has the greatest of confidence in the event being just that is Richard Adams of New Dawn Pools, Chipping Norton, who told organisers: “I have been visiting the SPATEX show since January 1978 which was then, as now, at Brighton but a far smaller affair. I have watched it grow over the years, at different venues, seeing the latest technology from around the world. But I think the most important part for me is meeting some very dear and old friends from the industry that I have known for years to discuss problems we might have, share information and advice to enhance our business, without feeling

we are giving away trade secrets. It’s a very small industry, everybody knows everybody, it’s all very friendly and that’s the way it should remain. I really look forward to the show every year, especially the SPATA and BISHTA Awards Dinner and Dance!”

There are a number of new initiatives to look forward to, including the popular Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers’ Technical Workshops, now boasting no less than 15 new sessions. One topic is from a brilliant business leadership coach who will advise how to get the best return by making the most of what you have… when she is revealed, she will be rather familiar to many of us! Also within the extended line up, is that most topical and necessary of subjects; energy conservation covering savings on everything from chemical consumption to reduction of heat loss. Another first this coming year, is that all those who attend the technical seminars will receive a SPATEX Certificate of Attendance on the relevant subject(s) as part of their workforce development.

For the first time, visitors will be able to download vouchers from those exhibitors who

are running special show offers. This can be done directly from the SPATEX website (www.spatex.co.uk), so visitors will have prior knowledge of where all the best deals are to be found! The vouchers are limited to one offer per company and must be presented in person during the three days of SPATEX.

Yet another new kid on the SPATEX block is the Wellness area. A relaxing oasis that will display how to make the most of leisure areas, from how to use lighting to enhance and invite, to the very latest in what’s fresh and gorgeous in the world of sauna, steam and all things leisurely and luxurious. A number of well-known industry names will be making their latest innovations available in order to augment the Wellness area and provide ideas for those involved in leisure projects and facilities.

With so much to do and so little time, organisers have arranged for ‘fast-track’ pre- registration which can be done via the SPATEX 2012 website.

Space is now almost fully booked with many well-known names returning; plus a good number of new exhibitors from home and abroad. Many will be showing new products and introducing new brands so please make SPATEX 2012 a main event in your diary.

There are still a number of innovations to be revealed in the coming months so it is a fast lane racing certainty there will be something for everyone in Brighton.

The final word goes to Rob Coombs, Managing Director of Deep End Pools Ltd, Berkshire who summed up the event by saying: “SPATEX is the Holy Grail of the pool industry. As a company, we never fail to attend the exhibition as it’s invaluable for researching new products, networking and gauging what the opposition is up to. It’s our main diary event of the year!” spn
