SPN OCT 2010 ShowPreview

PISCINE 2010, LYON, FRANCE

HOT TUB COMPANIES HEAD THE UK RAID ON LYON

Five specialist hot tub companies head a strong UK presence exhibiting at Lyon over the four days of Piscine 2010. Artesian Spa will be taking spas from all their ranges – Platinum/Elite, Island and South Seas. Said Rob Stirland: “We will be previewing some new product for 2011 in the existing ranges – and hopefully a new range. The main reason for our being there is we are now responsible for growing the Artesian brand in Scandinavia, Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal as well as the UK and Eire. Obviously we are looking for dealers in those countries.”

Canadian Spas, Master Spas , The Tub Company and Arctic Spas complete the hot tub companies exhibiting at a show which has always had a high profile for the pan European spa market and which in the last 12 months has shown some strong sales recovery after three leaner years. Aligator Systems the UK market leader in ionised swimming pool water purification systems will be exhibiting. Following on from the successful Barcelona show in 2009, Aligator are looking to expand their operation throughout Europe by recruiting new dealers. Demand for less chlorine in pools is helping sales of the system and fits in with the eco friendly image that swimming pool builders are now encouraging.

Growth from the dealers in the warmer Mediterranean countries has been encouraging says the company.

Aligator has also added a new product to its range of ionisation systems. Aquasprite will be launched at the Lyon show.

Product manager, David Dunn said: “Aquasprite will be targeted for the smaller and above-ground pools. We also think the product is suited for the warmer Mediterranean countries and growth for Aquasprite is expected to be very good. “The Lyon show is an ideal platform to launch Aquasrite.” Triogen, the Glasgow based design and manufacturing company specialising in ozone and UV systems is owned by French company

Degrémont Technologies, so exhibiting at Lyon and getting support from the parent company is part of their export strategy.

Triogen is a leading exporter of both domestic and commercial systems and they have exhibited successfully at the 2006 and 2008 French shows. Said David Chambers from Triogen: “The focus will be on the domestic systems for this show and we’ll be there alongside our French colleagues.” Export is a key theme for another UK based manufacturer – Elecro Engineering Limited whose heating equipment for swimming pools and aquatic applications have been manufactured in the UK for 15 years and are renowned throughout the world for their quality and reliability. Elecro has quickly earned a reputation for its heating, water treatment and filtration products. Waterco Europe will be releasing a number of new product lines at Lyon; three new Multicyclones including the new Multicyclone Plus a revolutionary version of their already widely successful product, a Gulf Panel Solar system, a range of commercial inline strainers, a new and unique range of Cast Iron commercial pumps and a Heat and Cool and Sub Zero heat pump to complement the already popular Electro Heat range of heat pumps.

“The Piscine show has always been a very successful exhibition for Waterco and gives us an excellent platform in which to release new product lines for the coming season as well as to meet with both existing and potential new customers,” comments Tony Fisher, Waterco Europe. It has been an interesting and challenging seven months for Filters4Spas since its launch at SPATEX. Filters4Spas is Europe’s fastest growing supplier of replacement filter cartridges for spas, hot tubs and pools and the company is takings its filters to show the best in Europe with confidence.
