UNDERCOVERCOACH

A fresh approach

FOR A NEW INDUSTRY

TO GIVE ADVICE IN THE PAGES OF A PUBLICATION IS NOT NEWBUT TO GIVE IT IN A NEWAND DIFFERENTWAY IS. AS DESCRIBEDWE BELIEVE THAT THROUGH THIS NEWAPPROACHWORKERSWITHIN THEWIND ENERGY INDUSTRYWILL BENEFIT FROMWHAT OUR UNDER COVER COACH REVEALSWITH HELP FROM YOU.

We intend to provide articles of interest and value that will focus on the key ‘soft skills’ that we all need if we are to do well in our careers.

We will encourage our readers at whatever age or level of achievement to protect and enhance their career prospects by starting or continuing their own personal programme of training and development. These programmes are often described as CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

I am personally very fortunate to have been involved closely in this type of training throughout my professional career both in learning and coaching and I am perhaps better placed than most to introduce relevant and effective articles to the pages of this publication on a regular basis.

In this edition it is my pleasure to introduce someone who writes under the pseudonym of the ‘UnderCoverCoach’. The ‘Coach’ as I call him is actually a popular trainer; conference speaker and professional mentor to many in the UK and in Europe. He has coached and trained people at all levels across many sectors of industry including the energy sector.

He has however agreed to contribute to the magazine only on condition that his identity remains a secret.

Anonymity will enable him to quote examples without fear of his clients being exposed, or embarrassed or offended. He will in this way be able to bring greater authenticity to his advice and counsel beyond that which he might normally feel is appropriate.

He will provide real life examples, tips and advice in a series of articles covering the 18 topics listed starting in the next issue. The Coach’s passion and understanding of the people he trains, motivates and advises ensures that they not only learn but also enjoy the various sessions and presentations he organises and manages. There is evidence to suggest that if you enjoy learning you will understand, absorb and apply it more in the workplace.

The articles will in time be linked to his very popular presentations at conferences and seminars. If our readership and the industry have real training needs that can addressed by the UnderCoverCoach you may end up meeting him in person. You will of course be expected to keep his identity a secret!

Feedback from our readership will help to decide on the final running and order of priority so please let us know in which subject order you would prefer. You can do this by emailing duncan@greenenergypublishing.co.uk
