develop 100 66 EMOTION FX

MYSTIC GAME’S EMOTION FX middleware is used to add animated characters to games, as well as help to bring in geometry from other software such as Autodesk’s 3ds Max and Maya. The node-based interface, that gives devs an overview of hierarchical blend trees and state machines, makes it easier for them to quickly set up and test any animations before they are integrated into the final game. There also a wide range of functions that help add more detail and expression to characters, including lookat, inverse kinematics, physics and special blend operations.

THE OCULUS RIFT may not even be out yet – or any of the hotly- anticipated VR headsets in fact – but that didn’t stop Virtuix last year amassing $1.1m on Kickstarter for its VR treadmill, smashing its $150,000 goal. The devices enables players to physically traverse virtual worlds through their movement in all directions, immersing VR players even further into the game world. And if the successful Kickstarter campaign wasn’t enough to highlight the Omni’s potential, Virtuix has also raised $3m in seed funding from investors, making it one of the hottest VR technologies around.
