Vax Commercial Grows Its Profile

With Astleys Vax Commercial’s growth within the cleaning industry has taken another positive step forward with the help of Coventry-based suppliers to the trade, Astleys. Vax installed a dedicated display area within Astleys’ trade showrooms, helping to raise the profi le of its carpet washers, vacuum cleaners and other specialist cleaning products with customers.

Since starting its trading relationship with Astleys just over a year ago in April 2013, Vax Commercial’s sales through the supplier have grown rapidly. Steve Wootton, UK Sales Manager for Astleys Cleaning and Hygiene Division, commented: “Vax Commercial offer a wide range of

commercial fl oorcare machines which provide solutions for some of our bigger customers in the care and education sectors. We are very happy with the support from Vax Commercial, and look forward to working closely with them throughout 2014 and beyond.”

Justin Pugh, Account Manager for Vax Commercial, commented: “We’ve recently expanded our range of high performance, hassle- free cleaning appliances and detergents, with new products that are ideally suited for maintaining the strict standards of hygiene in the healthcare, hospitality and education sectors. This means we can now offer partners such as Astleys a one-stop shop solution for a wide selection of their customers.”

Based in Coventry Business Park, Astleys fi rst launched its specialist Cleaning and Hygiene division in 2010, and it has soon become

one of the most successful parts of the business. Astleys relocated from its landmark building in Coventry city centre to a new- build headquarters in 2005, and its venture into the care sector has helped it trade successfully through the recession. According to David Astley, Operations Director with the company, the healthcare sector contributes 30% to the overall turnover of the group, which employs more than 30 staff. He said: “It has been a massive growth area for us in the last 18 months or so, during what has been a very diffi cult time for many sectors.

“There are very specifi c requirements in the care and hospitality sector in terms of the types of products which can be used to ensure hygiene standards. We have a highly experienced, specialist team whose vast knowledge of the products as well as the sector requirements has been vital in the new division growing so quickly.”

A leading brand from one of the world’s largest fl oorcare manufacturers, Vax Commercial’s cleaning products include robust tub and upright vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, steam cleaners, scrubber dryers, fl oor sweepers and detergents. Their after sales support service includes free product demonstrations and training, account management and a UK- based helpline.

The full Vax Commercial range will be on display at the Astleys Cleaning Show in Coventry on May 15th, and the team will be on hand throughout the show to offer demonstrations and advice.
