Inspirational Business Woman Shows Support For EVA’s

Sarah Southworth, Managing Director of Specialised Cleaning Services and previous Enterprise Vision Awards (EVA’s) winner, is showing her support for fellow business women by returning to the EVA’s as a 2014 sponsor of the ‘Business Woman of Year’ award.

Sarah scooped the award for ‘Business Woman of the Year 2012’ after being nominated by a friend and was highly commended in the Inspirational Woman of the Year category in 2013. Sarah commented: “Winning the awards boosted my confidence in such a huge way and really inspired me to push my business forward even harder. The whole judging process for the awards was very productive and really allowed me to reflect on everything I had achieved.

“I have also found, particularly in my own field of work which is very male-dominated, that women are often not recognised as the person in authority. In my opinion, it is crucial that women receive recognition for their achievements and that they are showcased to the wider business

community, this is why I am showing my support to this year’s EVA’s as sponsor of the Business Woman of The Year award.”

Specialised Cleaning Services offers void property cleaning, trauma cleaning and pest control amongst other things, to a range of businesses and housing associations across the region. Sarah’s business started out in the

90s as a £3 an hour ironing round, but quickly grew after Sarah bought the client list and began to offer domestic cleaning services.

The EVA’s aim is to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women across the North West, and they are now open for entries and nominations.
