THE ELECTRIC Bike Corporation (EBC) has unveiled what it calls bold new plans for 2014 with a more focused offering for bike retailers. The new range includes everything

from commuter offerings that qualify for cycle to work all the way up to state-of- the-art enthusiast off-road e-bikes. The firm is increasing the available models in EBC’s house brand, EBCO, and its enthusiast brand AVE, for a wider choice of models for retailers ‘without confusing them with a myriad of overlapping models with minute differentiators’, EBC said. The range aims to cover a wide gamut

of price points and will introduce a new EBCO e-bike at £799, powered by the Tranz-X system with a 36v motor. This addition to the EBCO line-up – the UCL 10 – is bound to sell in volume, EBC believes, as it features the technology and build quality of other award winning EBCO e-bikes.

“EBC has doubled its business over the last 12 months and we are confident of doubling it again in 2014.” Paul Stanforth, EBC

technical Ave Bosch-powered range retailing from £1,599 to £4,599, which will cover traditional e-bikes through to full on down hill ‘E-Rigs’ and speed pedelecs. These developments are driven by the expansion of the e-bike sector, EBC said. The firm added that it prides itself on its one-stop-shop e-bike offering, with ‘great product, superb after-sales back up, a full time e-bike technician and spares and marketing support’. Paul Stanforth, EBC’s managing

director, said: “I’ve been banging the drum for several years about how the e-bike sector is about to burst onto the UK market. This is now happening. The fact that the likes of Bosch and Shimano are investing millions into R&D and developing high quality and reliable products is proof of this.

“Of course, the acid test is always

sales, and EBC has doubled its business over the last 12 months and we are confident of doubling our business again in 2014.” “Now, more than ever, retailers need to

understand how to capitalise on this booming sector and it’s why we’ve worked hard, and driven our suppliers harder, to bring an expansive range of quality e-bikes at a competitive price. Whatever your customer profile we have a model that will suit their needs and budget. We only deal in e-bikes and this is where our expertise and focus lie, so we are the obvious choice for retailers wanting to get involved. If you’re not already partnering with the only e-bike distributor to be nominated two years running for a BikeBiz Award it’s probably time you came and had a chat with us.” For more information on EBC’s new
