Applying for a Master’s Degree

Once you have decided that you would like to study with us, our aim is to make the application process as efficient and straightforward as possible. In order for us to consider your application, you will need to send us the following documentation:

• copies of all your academic qualifications. If you have not yet completed these, you will need to state this on your application form and send us your results once you have them

• proof of English Language competence. For our postgraduate courses we require applicants to have at least IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you have studied in English or in an English- speaking country, you will need to provide evidence of this

• a personal statement explaining why you would like to study your chosen course and what you plan to do with your qualification

• a reference or letter of recommendation from one of your academic tutors explaining your academic potential. MBA applicants will be asked to supply two references from current or former employers, and a current CV/ résumé.

There are three main ways to apply 1. Direct application (paper-based)

You can download a paper application form from the University of Northampton website: www.northampton.ac.uk/international

2. Using an approved in-country representative

We work with a number of in-country representatives across the world. You will find a list of our approved representatives on our website: www.northampton.ac.uk/international All in-country representatives are familiar with our courses and our application procedures. Many have visited the University or are University of Northampton graduates and can therefore provide first-hand information. They will give you advice and guidance regarding courses and will discuss the suitability of courses with you, in addition they will provide assistance with your application for a student visa.

3. Online application

You can apply online via our website: www.northampton.ac.uk/applyonline You can also apply online via the United Kingdom Postgraduate Application and Statistical Service: www.ukpass.ac.uk

What happens next?

Once we have received your completed application and all the required documents, we will make a decision as soon as we can as to whether we are able to make you an offer of a place on the course. If successful, we will send you confirmation of the offer by letter and instructions on what to do if you would like to accept your place with us. We have a dedicated and experienced International Admissions Team who are on hand to answer any queries you may have during this process.
