Nightlife

Enjoy a vibrant mix of pubs, clubs, cinemas and international cuisine in Northampton. Music venues

Dining and Pubs

Roadmender is Northampton’s hub for live music and club nights, drawing audiences from across the region. Recent acts include New Model Army, Stiff Little Fingers and Band of Skulls, and local bands My First Tooth and The Moons. Popular club nights include Propaganda, an audio/ visual mix of current and classic indie music with Propaganda’s resident DJs, as well as Digital Disco, playing electro, house and dubstep.

The nearby Picturedrome is also a venue with a difference. Originally built in 1912 as the town’s first purpose-built cinema, it is now a popular destination for movies, live music, DJs and comedy.

The county as a whole is home to an array of restaurants, pubs and cafés, with an annual Food and Drink Awards event promoting the very best of the best. The range of cuisine available across Northampton includes well-known chain restaurants or diverse and independent bistros. You can choose from international cuisine including Portuguese, Thai, French, Italian and Japanese.

Northampton also boasts a fantastic range of pubs, which are dotted throughout the town centre, and all with a strong student focus. For a quieter night out there are also multiplex cinemas, as well as the more intimate Forum Cinema, which screens art-house films from around the world.

Northamptonshire Festivals

Throughout the year, celebrations of food, music, and cultures for all ages and tastes take place across Northamptonshire.

The Shambala Festival takes place each August in the Northamptonshire countryside, with over 200 musical acts, camping, comedy and cabaret acts.
