Hillhead Preview Mentor Training

Stand: P43

Mentor Training delivers accredited and nationally recognised mobile plant and materials handling operator training courses throughout the UK. Courses are delivered on site to provide delegates with the skills and knowledge to ensure safe, efficient and effective operation of equipment The company’s plant courses are fully accredited to the industry recognised MPQC accreditation and operator competency scheme. Mentor’s recent focus is on ‘Helping the Industry meet its targets’ by enhancing the industry operator training in alignment with MPA guidance.

This has involved fully mapping courses to the relevant units of the National Occupational Standard per category of machine. By adopting this stance course content has not only been updated in line with best practice but all criteria is now covered in both theoretical and practical training.

Following consultations with its customers Mentor has launched operator training courses for mobile crushing and screening which fully cover their safe operation and daily maintenance. A second course for light vehicle training provides an in depth understanding of 4x4 vehicles and the hazards involved in their operation in quarries and landfill sites.

• C Series crawler excavators: more productivity and fuel savings, lower operating costs

• C Series wheel loaders: more powerful, fuel efficient and designed for the toughest conditions • 200 Series skid steer loaders: bigger, stronger, faster – the multi-task masters New Holland’s sister company Iveco will also be present on the stand with two vehicles suitable for construction businesses.

NSK Stand: P45 NSK is showing a full range of production- improver bearing products at Hillhead 2102, for use on all areas of quarrying equipment, including conveyors, screens, crushers, cranes and mobile gantries.

Three types of spherical roller bearings are being shown: the long-life VS series bearings that offer twice the service life in vibrating machinery; Sealed Clean SRB that combine high levels of ingress protection and operating reliability to extend equipment life in demanding applications; and the extended range – up to 260mm bore – of HPS SRB. These bearings offer twice the lifespan and a 20% higher limiting speed, compared to conventional spherical roller bearings. Also exhibited on stand P45, NSK’s RHP range of Self- Lube housed bearing units help users cut build and maintenance times by reducing bearing complexity and mounting costs. These products are complemented by a range of sealed plummer blocks and also high-integrity crane sheeve bearings.

Metso Minerals (UK) Stands: M1 B16

Metso will be displaying a wide range of equipment and several new products at this year's show, including the new LT106 mobile jaw crusher, which has been designed around the well- proven C106 jaw crusher for high capacity and reliability. Also on display will be the new LT120 mobile jaw crusher incorporating the latest member of the C-jaw product range, the C120, which delivers reliability and high performance with optimised power consumption. The C120 is a heavy-duty jaw crusher well suited to demanding stationary applications but which also meets the requirements of mobile and portable applications.

Using recent research into crusher kinematics, Metso's new HP3 high-density cone crusher has been designed for the production of high-quality aggregate. This new design reflects the need for high crushing forces and maximum power draw controlled by the advanced IC7000 crusher setting control.

New Holland Stand: X1

New Holland will show the powerful C Series crawler excavators and wheel loaders featuring its Tier 4 interim technologies at Hillhead. Visitors to the demonstration plot will also be able to see them in action. The display on the New Holland stand will also include the recently launched L225 skid steer loader and Iveco vehicles for the construction business.

56 Solids & Bulk Handling • May 2012
