The £2,260 H5001/62 Violin Bass (pictured, left) is handmade in Germany and stays true to the original design from the 1960s, however the £650 Contemporary series HCT5001 (pictured, centre) is as close to the original model – famously favoured by Sir Paul McCartney, who can regularly be seen playing his 1962 reissue – as you can get, while adding a few modern luxuries. The £329 HIBBSB Ignition model (pictured, right) is described as “the only way to get the official Höfner look and feel at a superb-value price.”
