EURO TOWERS HITS NEW HEIGHTS

Popular hire industry supplier, Euro Towers, has secured more than £1m in orders from customers in France and Singapore for its aluminium towers and low level access products. This follows a concerted attempt to develop export markets, and an increase in business generally has enabled the manufacturer to re-employ staff who were laid off during the recession. Sue Verallo, joint owner with husband Roger, who is also Chairman

of PASMA, said: “We had to make 36 staff redundant in 2008, and our profits were down. However, an advisor from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) came to see us and, with their support, we were able to translate our websites and brochures into several languages,

Avant lightens the load

Following three years of using an Avant 200 Series mini loader in its storage facility, Hampshire-based toilet hirer, Loos for Do’s, has now taken delivery of a more powerful and articulated 520 model.

Owned and run by husband and wife team Edward and Nicky

Warner, the company has achieved 25% year-on-year growth since being established in 2002. They originally chose an Avant because it avoided the need to obtain fork lift driver licences for the workforce, but it soon proved to be a cost-effective method of loading toilets in the yard.

“With its articulated chassis and telescopic arm, we are now able to load our delivery vehicles from just one side, which speeds up the whole process,” said Edward Warner. “The extra weight and power of our new 520 model also enables us to handle larger, disabled toilets, as well as to tow our 3 tonne trailer units.”
