AT THE RACES
AMERICAN UPDATE FROM KONA
The eyes of many in the multisport world were focused on Hawaii on Oct. 9 for the annual Ironman World Championship in Kona, and Caitlin Snow (Brockton, Mass.) posted the top finish by an American with a time of 9 hours, 26 minutes, 42 seconds, which was good for eighth in the women’s race. Linsey Corbin (Missoula, Mont.) was 12th, and Kelly Williamson (Austin, Texas) was 15th to give the U.S. three of the top 15 finishers.

On the men’s side, Chris Lieto (Danville, Calif.) led the race off the bike and finished as the top U.S. athlete, placing 11th in 8:25:51. Olympian Andy Potts (Colorado Springs, Colo.) held the top position out of the water and finished 21st.
