JUNE 2015

Published for members of Kiwash Electric Cooperative

A supplement to Oklahoma Living

extbooks, tuition, room and board— higher education isn’t cheap. To reward high school graduates for their academic

performanc e and encourage them to further their education, Kiwash Electric created its college scholarship program in 1986.

KEC is pleased to announce the recipients of four $500 scholarships. Congratulations to Carley Frymire, Thomas Fay Custer High School; Kennedy Merrill, Cordell High School; Harley Heard, Clinton High School; and Reace Russell, Cordell High School.

Scholarship applicants were asked to write an essay or produce a video on one of the seven cooperative principles.

The scholarship program is open to any graduating senior who attends high school in Kiwash Electric service territory, and whose parents are members of the co-op.

Parents or legal guardians of the 2015 scholarship winners are Robert and Annie Frymire; Corky and Missy Heard; Chris and Kim Renison and Tommy Merrill;, and Nolan and Michelle Russell.

Kennedy Merrill Notice of Capital Credit Allocation

A notice of capital credit allocation will appear on your June electric bill. This amount represents your share of Kiwash Electric margins, or what’s left over after expenses are paid.

As a member-owner of a not-for-profit electric cooperative, your share of co- op margins is based on the amount of electricity you use during the year.

Your 2014 capital credit allocation and the total unretired balance of your capital account will be listed on the June bill.

The decision to refund capital credits rests solely with the Kiwash Electric board of directors, and is dependent on the financial condition of the cooperative and the provisions of its bylaws. For questions about capital credits, please call the co-op at (888) 832-3362.
