Sparks & Flashes Gary Quinn Retires

Supplement to Oklahoma Living After 24 Years at NFEC

After 24 years of devoted service to the members of Northfork Electric Coopera- tive, Gary Quinn retired May 19.

Quinn began his employ- ment at NFEC in March 1991 when he was hired as a dis- patcher. His commitment to the co-op and willingness to learn made him an adaptable employee. During his career, he assumed multiple positions, including cashier, customer service representative, subsid- iary services, member servic- es, and billing clerk.

In addition to his current billing duties, Quinn has been vital in growing and maintain- ing the co-op’s home health monitor program. The service provides seniors, and individuals with medical conditions or physical challenges, the opportunity to live in their own homes. “I truly enjoy helping people and providing them and their families with peace of mind. This pro- gram helps not only co-op members, but people all across our service territory,” said Quinn. His desire to serve others doesn’t stop with his responsibilities at the co-op. Quinn has been a deacon at the Sayre First Baptist Church since 1985. NFEC Manager of Office Services Lisa Dailey has witnessed firsthand Gary’s dedica- tion and heart for service. “Over the last two decades, Gary has represented the cooperative spirit through his attention to detail and care for

NFEC’s members. He gladly gives of his time and resourc- es to make others happy,” said Dailey.

Although he will miss his coworkers, Quinn is look- ing forward to spending a lot more time with his wife, Brenda, and their children and grandchildren. The beau- tiful couple of 42 years will spend most of this summer traveling. “We are going to Illinois, Florida, and Red Riv- er, New Mexico,” said Quinn. He will also make time for

his hobbies, which include hunting, fishing, and taxidermy.

“Everyone at NFEC wishes Gary all the best in his retirement. We will miss his big heart, infectious smile, and great sense of hu- mor. He will always be a part of our Northfork Electric family,” said Dailey.

“I will miss Gary as one of our dedicated employees, but even more so on a personal level,” says NFEC General Manager Scott Copeland. “Gary is a man of strong faith and our family of employees has come to appreciate that about him. Anytime one of us has faced a personal challenge of any kind, he has been there for us, lifting us up, encouraging us, and praying for us. A friend like that is pretty much irreplaceable in the workplace. I know he will continue to do that for us, but we will miss hav- ing him right here with us every day.”
