n Corn, Okla., colossal, bright white windmills are impres- sively sprinkled throughout the countryside. Little anyone knows, one of the town’s most notable treasures is a deep blue silo tower, which Stacy, Carmen, Garrison and Ab-

igayle Reimer call their home. The family of Kiwash Electric Cooperative members has been living in the uniquely elegant tower since Thanksgiving 2013. Their story begins in their hometown, with an unexpect- ed and spiritual twist. Stacy and Carmen are Corn locals; both grew up in the community and began their life as Mr. and Mrs. Reimer in 1995. They started a family with their son, Garrison, 15, and Abigayle, 13, in their hometown too. Stacy provided for the family by farming and teaching at a local school, but in 2006, the Reimers felt the calling for an adventure. “There’s a big God out there and he was asking us to go,” Carmen said. “We wanted our kids to see that the world was bigger than Corn, Okla.” Stacy and Carmen taught school in the Cayman Islands for two years and then moved to California and worked at a Christian camp for three years. Carmen said the kids were needing to start junior high and high school so they decided to move back to Corn in 2011. “We have close ties to Corn Bible Academy and these days, you need all the help you can get raising kids so we wanted to be around the kids’ grandparents and in a farm environment again,” Carmen said. While the Reimers were on their adventure, they had secured property in Corn for when they returned to build a home and a farm. Carmen said they began plans with an architect on their dream home and in the meantime planned to live in two, fi fth wheel trailers on their property. When their short-term plan turned into two years, they began to rethink what their dream home meant to them. “We didn’t feel any peace about building the home and we


said, ‘OK Lord, what are we supposed to do?’” Carmen said. “Financing had not come together for the dream home so we thought we could do something different and cheaper.” The creative juices started flowing when a car ride to Oklahoma City prompted dreaming and thinking about how
