2 2 KS
These activity cards are ideal for helping assess the reading level of children and supporting them in getting to the next level. The double- side cards have questions on each side which link directly into the Assessment Focus recommendations for reading, so teachers or teaching assistants can gain an accurate guide as to what level children are reading at. The cards also feature a TASK activity to extend the learning opportunity and a TIP to help children out if they need it. The cards can be used in guided reading sessions, one- to-one sessions, independing reading or even shared reading lessons. Ideal for parents to use as well. 50 double- side cards, 100 activities in total.

2 Reading Intervention Books The Reading Intervention series provides three key strategies to help struggling readers and create ‘connected’ readers: applying personal experiences, using phonics and sight vocabulary, and applying known grammatical structures. The four books cover different textual forms: Short Stories (Book 1), Letters (Book 2), Newspaper Articles (Book 3) and Procedural Text (Book 4). Each book contains eight texts, each of which forms the basis for a range of activities built around engaging themes and topics. The activities can be divided into four components with a small group or used in its entirety in one-on-one intervention. The books have an adaptable schedule to suit the individual pupil. A4, 54pp, photocopiable. Suitable for KS2.
