TITAN PRODUCTS

Titan Products has unveiled the wireless Zigbee 3.0 variant and a Smart BACnet variant which includes Modbus communications. Providing combined CO2, Temperature and Humidity monitoring, both options off er considerable reductions in

installation costs and timing, whether a wired communications set-up or a completely wireless battery powered solution is required. The Zigbee Z3 wireless sensors are fully interoperable with third party Zigbee 3.0 and Zigbee HA1.2 devices, opening up the opportunity to add wireless CO2, Temperature and Humidity monitoring to your Zigbee ecosystem. With a fi ve year battery life, the sensors also off er increased fl exibility in mounting location.

TITON

Titon has extended its range of MVHR units with the ultra-compact HRV 1.6 Q Plus. Designed specifi cally for the modular construction market, the high-performance unit measures 600mm wide, enabling it to fi t into tight spaces for easy installation and access. The HRV 1.6 Q Plus combines low power consumption with a heat exchanger off ering effi ciencies up to 89%, which

enhances SAP performance via Appendix Q. Furthermore, despite its compact size, the lightweight HRV 1.6 Q Plus can achieve excellent fl ow rates of up to 100 l/s or 359 m3/h, while the unit has also been independently tested by the BRE. Other benefi ts of the new unit include an extremely low specifi c fan power (SFP) of 0.49 W/l/s, as well as intelligent frost protection. The HRV1.6 Q Plus also has an adjustable boost overrun timer and ‘Summer Mode’ facility built-in as standard.

MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC

A new Mitsubishi Electric e-series chiller system has been chosen for Jaguar Land Rover’s principal design facility in Worcestershire. The new system was brought in as part of a major refurbishment with the overriding aim of improving on the energy effi ciency of the old system. Mitsubishi Electric developed its e-series modular chiller to provide a low-carbon, cost-eff ective option. Its unique modular approach allows up to six individual units to be connected, providing a system capacity from 90kW to 540kW. This approach reduces space requirements and simplifi es lifting and installation. The system comprises two inverter driven compressors that allow it to operate between 8-100% of capacity.

FRESE

The Delta T Control system is an innovative solution from Frese, designed as an easy to use control system for measuring, monitoring and controlling temperature diff erence (∆T) between the inlet and outlet of a terminal unit to maximise savings. Adaptable and versatile, the Delta T Control system can be used as a diagnostic tool as well as a control system to collect and

analyse data in both in heating and cooling systems. It can be installed in new build projects, typically with the Frese Optima Compact PICV, or it can be retrofi tted to existing valves, without any interruption to the system operation. The Frese Delta T Control System monitors actual ∆T and adjusts fl ow through the control valve accordingly, until the ∆T of the coil is restored to the minimum set point ∆T value. By reducing the fl ow, additional fl ow capacity is released in the overall system.

VIESSMANN

Viessmann is continuing to make step changes to its customer service provision with the appointment of four new area service managers. The roles will support a fi eld service engineer force that has grown by more than 25% over the past 18 months, including fi ve engineers recently recruited and trained. The fi rst UK engineer apprentice will also begin his three-year

training in September. The four new area service manager posts have been fi lled through internal promotions. Primarily supporting the existing national service managers, Steven Kerswell and Shaun Stokes-Wigham will operate in the south of the UK, with Richard Hindmarsh and Andrew Lambert in the north. Each has responsibilities including fi eld engineering support, sales support, complaint-response support, contractor management, and health and safety reviews.
