Iowa to add 1 GW of wind power


Alliant Energy plans to add 1 GW of new wind power capacity in Iowa, USA. It will invest some USD1.8 billion through until 2020. This spring, crews began construction on the first of several wind farms, starting with Upland Prairie wind farm, located in Clay and Dickinson counties in northwest Iowa. Later this year, construction is expected to start at the English Farms wind farm, located in Poweshiek County in central Iowa.


lands Mexican deal Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) will install 29 SG 3.4-132 turbines at a wind farm located in the Mexican state of Coahuila. The turbines will be supplied in the first quarter of 2019.


power system deal Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) will provide a 97 MW steam turbine power generation system for a pulp and paper mill in Sumatra, Indonesia. The new system is scheduled to begin operation by the end of 2019.


manufacturing base Nordex Group has opened a manufacturing plant in the Brazilian state of Piaui. It will manufacture 65 towers required for the Lago de Barra wind farm, which Nordex will be installing in the near future.

he Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) of Germany awarded six offshore wind projects with a combined capacity of


1.6 GW in its latest auction. Ørsted submitted the winning bid for the


420 MW Borkum Riffgrund West 1 project in the North Sea, which will be subsidy free and is expected to be online in 2024. Innogy will build and operate the 325 MW


Kaskasi wind farm in the North Sea. Iberdrola will develop the 476 MW Baltic Eagle wind farm and the 10MW Wikinger Sud extension. KNK Wind will develop the 348 MW Baltic

Senvion wins Bhuj project


Le Douiche wins wind farm build


Rive Private Investment and Mirova, through its fund Mirova-Eurofideme 3, acquired Le Douiche wind farm – a ready-to-build onshore wind project in France developed by Nordex. The manufacturer will supply 20 N117/3000 turbines for the project.


Senvion has been awarded a 300 MW project by Alfanar to deliver the Bhuj wind project in Gujarat, India. 131 Senvion 2.3 M120 turbines will be installed at the project, which is slated to come online within the next 18 months.

GE inks Jenbacher
