Shipping lines switch senior management H


apag-Lloyd has appointed Maximilian Rothkopf as the group’s chief operating officer, effective July 1, 2019. He will


replace Anthony J Firmin, who retires on June 30, 2019. Rothkopf will also serve on the Hapag-Lloyd executive board. Effective April 2019, the Japanese shipowner “K”


Line will also have new senior management. In the year that the company celebrates its


100th anniversary, Yukikazu Myochinwill take over as president and ceo of “K” Line from Eizo Murakami,who will become chairman of the company. Myochin is currently a managing executive officer of “K” Line. The current chairman of “K” Line, Jiro Asakura,will be a director of the company after Murakami takes over. At APL, part of the CMA CGM Group, Lars


Kastrup has been named ceo. He joined CMA CGM in 2007 and most recently served as executive vice president assets, heading up CMA Terminals, CMA Ships, Container Logistics, as well the group’s regional carriers including MacAndrews, Oldenburg-Portugiesische Dampfschiffs-Rhederei (OPDR) and Mercosul. Kastrup replaces Nicolas Sartiniwho has taken


on the role of deputy ceo and chief operating officer of Ceva Logistics.


Emslie to tackle Swain strategy


David Emslie has been appointed by the Swain Group as its strategic development director. He will be based at the company’s headquarters in Rochester, UK, working alongside commercial director, Matthew Sweet. In this newly established


role, Emslie will be responsible for developing the company’s range of services, which includes general haulage, logistics, palletised distribution and project management, as well specialist transportation services for clients in the construction, energy and infrastructure sectors.

HFW boosts London team Victor Fenwick has joined HFW’s admiralty and crisis management team. Fenwick has more than 25 years of experience handling marine casualty claims, advising shipowners, brokers, hull and machinery, and P&I insurers on a wide range of casualty and insurance coverage issues. Fenwick joins the maritime law firm’s London office from Ince & Co, where he was a partner and deputy head of the firm’s admiralty business group.


Panalpina names Stingl Panalpina has appointed Christian Stingl as regional head of marketing and sales for Europe. He has previously held senior positions at DHL Global Forwarding and Ceva Logistics, and will be based in Frankfurt, Germany.


McNally joins GTMaritime Maritime software specialist GTMaritime has appointed Mike McNally as its sales and marketing director. McNally has over 25 years of experience in the industry, both at sea and in senior maritime communications management positions.
