‘Munch’ and ‘snap’ on agenda with Contiki trips

YOUTH SPECIALIST Contiki has unveiled a range of limited edition European itineraries aimed at millennials. The 18-35 operator created its new

trio of new Limited Edition Summer Series after research carried out across both trade and consumer channels found that millennial travellers were interested in learning new skills during their getaways. The tours “Munch”, “Snap” and

“Boutique Local” will each focus on an aspect of European culture with a modern twist. Contiki’s nine-day Munch tour will

feature a “gastronomic journey” through France, Spain and Italy, during which guests can take part in cooking classes, pasta making lessons, Tuscan dinners, market tours and wine-making tutorials, leading in at £1,795pp. The operator’s Snap itinerary is

aimed at avid users of Instagram and budding photographers to make the most of a selection of “once-in-a- lifetime photo opportunities”. The trip will be co-hosted by an

A NEW villa company in Bali is hoping to build relationships with the UK travel trade, offering agents 10% commission in a bid to boost its profile. Dari Indera Villas and Spa launched

its new website,, this month, along with its first property, the Muse – a four-bed luxury villa in Seminyak. The group’s flagship, the four-bed rural retreat Villa Dari Indera, is due to open in Tanah Lot later this year. Group founder Paul Blackburn said

he wanted to target specialist agents in the UK, with hopes that the British market would account for about 50% of customers.

New summer 2017 Lakes & Mountains programme

THOMSON LAKES & Mountains has launched its summer 2017 programme, featuring 60 resorts across Europe. The programme includes a variety

of holiday durations, from three or four-night breaks to two-week holidays. It includes properties in Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland. New for summer 2017, all hotels in

Schladming, Austria, will be offered on an all-inclusive basis, the operator said. Extras will also be included, such as a guided torchlit walk, entrance to the Dachstein Glacier Ice Palace, food tasting,

traditional Austrian breakfast or snack in a mountain hut and a shopping discount. The operator added that

Thomson customers staying at the Ferienalm or Stadttor hotels would also be given a “Summer Card”, offering them free use of all lifts and local public transport, as well as a free paragliding sampler course and access to the glacier hike and alpine trail. Meanwhile for children, the card

will allow free access to the kids’ adventure club, introduction to rock climbing, a free “Wild West” day,

experienced Instagrammer who will share their photo-taking tips as travellers are taken around Salzburg, Prague, Berlin, Venice and Ljubljana, starting from £1,725pp. Completing the range is Contiki’s 12-

day Boutique Local offering, which the operator said would enable clients to “get up close and personal with the coolest neighbourhoods in Spain and Portugal.” Costing from £2,515pp, the package sees travellers visit Lisbon,

Porto, Salamanca, Madrid, Bilbao and Barcelona, with access to boutique accommodation. Each tour will carry 30 guests

with a select number of departure dates available in summer 2017. Donna Jeavons, sales and

marketing director UK and Europe, said: “The Limited Edition Summer Series is testament to Contiki’s innovation. We might have 54 years in the business but we are always evolving our product based on what our travellers want. We know our consumers, we know their desires and their behaviours, and this collection is a direct result of that insight. We know they’ll absolutely love these trips.”
