Lube Library A new information based online service, available to subscribers of Lube Magazine

Beginning in 1988 as a four-page newsletter for the then British Lubricants Federation (BLF), LUBE Magazine has now been in circulation for almost 30 years. It is a publication that has always sought to provide informative, accessible and up-to-the- minute content regarding the contemporary lubricants market and technical developments. Over the years, LUBE Magazine has evolved; developing over time into a fully fledged industry magazine with content contributed from numerous worldwide companies from across the industry.

At LUBE we make great efforts to expand the resources available to our readership. In October 2012, the Magazine went online, with every issue from the years 2011 onwards being made available to subscribers digitally via the Lube-Media website www.lube-media.com/archive. Earlier this year, we expanded our online content further by making available all of the Lube-Tech technical articles of the Magazine and later all of the Local Reports from individual countries not just to our subscribers but to any visitor to the Lube-Media website.

However, all of these developments constituted only a fraction of LUBE’s history and content, which – until now – has not been available in its entirety to Lube Magazine subscribers in any fashion. This is why we have added all the back issues on Lube Archive and this is why we have launched Lube Library on the Lube-Media website www.lube-media.com/lubelibrary.

The result of many hours of hard work on the parts of ourselves here in the Lube-Media office, our graphic designer at Ascender Media, and our IT providers at Pikuseru and YUDU, the Lube Library project was created to give subscribers to Lube Magazine access to an exhaustive list of every edition of Lube Magazine since its inception. At the time of writing there are 136 issues of Lube Magazine which subscribers will be able to view digitally in their entirety.

Looking through the back-catalogue of Lube Magazine provides a fascinating, informative and sometimes humorous (particularly when charting various companies’ burgeoning use of the internet) insight into historical developments in the lubricant industry.

Furthermore, if there is something specific readers are looking for in our back-catalogue, Lube Library also provides users with a search tool that allows them to search articles by a number of factors, including category, subject, author, company, issue number or by keywords associated with the topic which the reader is interested in.

As with our previous enterprises, we believe that Lube Library is an indispensible industry and academic resource, providing almost three decades worth of information on the lubricant

industry for users to explore, cite or reference in whatever project they see fit. Moreover, though, Lube Library is the heritage of Lube Magazine and of everyone who has worked on it over the decades; one which we are now very proud to share with our subscribers.

We are immensely grateful to all those who have contributed to the success of this project; our aforementioned designer and IT providers, together with our sponsors and advertisers whose financial contribution has made this project possible. Contributors give considerable time and effort into developing articles (man hours and cost) to provide exclusive articles. Lube Library will help to give longevity to those articles. A big ‘thank you’ to the people and companies which have provided content.

To access Lube Library, simply ensure that you are subscribed to Lube Magazine which can be done by completing our online subscription form www.lube-media.com/subscribe, and the history of the lubricant industry is yours to discover. If you would like to order a back copy, all you need to do is complete the online downloadable form available on the Lube Library web page.
