Port of Milford Haven choose MARIN simulator

MARIN is proud to announce that it has been awarded a contract to deliver the first UK-based, DOLPHIN simulator to the Port of Milford Haven. Captain Steve Hardcastle, Port of Milford Haven Pilotage Operations Manager, said that after strong international competition, MARIN had been selected on the basis of “the accuracy of the hydrodynamic modelling and depth of professionalism in the marine simulation world”. Ron Schoon, MARIN Project Manager, commented: “The simulator will combine both pilot and tug operations designed principally for pilotage operations in the Milford area. Furthermore, it is linked to the VTS simulator with input from Portable Pilot Units such as the Safe- Pilot application.”

Both the Port of Milford Haven and MARIN are looking forward to a long and produc- tive partnership extending into all aspects of marine simulation.
