ECS ENTERS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH

OMORROW’S ORROW’S F A CI LI T I E S MANAGEMENT

DIVERSEY CARE Total Facilities Management company, European Customer Synergy (ECS), has entered a strategic partnership with leading provider of smart and sustainable cleaning and hygiene solutions, Diversey Care.

The partnership will enable ECS to continue to deliver the highest quality products and services to its clients, whilst also being able to offer more effective and environmentally- friendly solutions.

Graham Perry, business unit director of iSite, discusses the potential of Building Information Modelling (BIM) to enable intelligent decision-making through the better interrogation of data.

Commonly used throughout the planning, design and construction of new buildings, BIM presents the physical and functional characteristics of a property in a digital format. As a concept, it has been around since the 1970s, yet it is only over the past few years that we have seen its use steadily increase, primarily across the construction industry.

The National Building Specification describes the implementation of BIM moving into a mature market, evolving beyond the innovators and early adopters to a more mainstream audience. Yet despite the fact it is proven to deliver cost savings for facilities management teams, few have tried to integrate

Scott Newland, Chief Operating Officer of ECS, said: “We are very pleased to have strategically partnered with Diversey Care following a long history of working together. Diversey Care prides itself on pioneering innovative solutions within the Facilities Management sector and that is what makes this partnership so beneficial for ECS and most importantly, our clients.

“The partnership will further enable us to deliver industry leading services to our clients in a more sustainable and efficient way, through the use of best in class products and cutting- edge technology, alongside smarter ways of working.”

Diversey Care will not only work with ECS to maximise productivity and efficiencies on a European scale, but also on a local level, collaborating with ECS Partners to tailor solutions depending on differing regional requirements.

The strategic partnership will be particularly effective given the common goals of the two organisations. With sustainability central to the ethos of both companies, ECS will be able to assist its clients in achieving more environmentally-friendly practices and processes in all aspects of their business operations. BIM into CAFM systems and its use rarely expands into the management of a building once it is occupied.

With operational teams across a range of industries under pressure to work more strategically and deliver enhanced levels of client service, it is important that the value of BIM, or more simply the better analysis of data, is adopted more widely.

Its success ultimately boils down to how FM teams can improve the capture and analysis of data relating to the properties and assets they manage. A key aspect of BIM is its ability to capture data that will be of use from the beginning to the end of a project and a unified way of presenting this information.

It’s not uncommon for FM teams to have responsibility for millions of assets and so the ability to collate data in one place is imperative to enabling the team to make more informed decisions. This can be particularly important when looking at capital expenditure to explore ways of predicting and maximising asset lifespan across an estate.

Ultimately, it is the analytical capabilities of Big Data and the intelligence this process delivers that adds value. Regardless of how data is presented – BIM or otherwise, it is the information that is gathered, and how this information is used to empower a business, that holds the real value.

ultra-concentrated cleaning products and intelligent dosing machines have been specifically design to address this, helping to reduce packaging, transportation requirements, on-site storage space and chemical wastage. Of the packaging that is required, 100% is recyclable.

Regularly working with organisations to achieve corporate social responsibility goals, ECS can now also offer Diversey Care’s Discover SURE™ range, a new 100% plant based product offering, which is equally effective as chemical based alternatives.
