TOMORROW’S CLEANING TO PARTNER WITH ECH

AWARDS FOR 2017 Tomorrow’s Cleaning is pleased to announce that is has become the official UK media partner for the European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards.

Launched last year, the ECH Awards aim to recognise standards of excellence in the professional cleaning sector across Europe.

The inaugural awards were held at a glittering gala dinner at the Majestic

Hotel in Barcelona on 29th September, and were a roaring success. This year, the Awards will take place in Rome, and organisers Environment Media Group are already setting their sights on a bigger and better event for 2017.

Matt Waring, Editor of Tomorrow’s Cleaning magazine, said of the partnership: “It’s fantastic that we have been selected as the UK media partner for the European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards. Anything that offers recognition to the good work going on in the cleaning industry is great to see and here at Tomorrow’s Cleaning, we’re honoured to be affiliated with such a prestigious awards programme.”

Michelle Marshall, from the European Cleaning Journal, founders of the European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards, added: “We are delighted that Tomorrow’s Cleaning has come on board as a media partner for the 2017 awards. The awards are the only pan-European celebration of the achievements of service providers, manufacturers and distributors in the cleaning and hygiene sector. Our media partners play an important role in promoting the awards and ensuring a wide range of high quality entrants.”

LONDON CLEANING SHOW TOPS AGENDA AT BCC

MEETING IN DERBY The British Pest Control Association played host to the BCC’s last meeting of 2016, as members heard that plans for this year’s Cleaning Show at the London Excel are in the advanced stages.

The show is expected to be almost double in size from the one held two years ago, with extra floor space filling up fast as potential exhibitors seek to get in on the act.

The success of the show means that the BCC’s own stand has had to be redesigned to be bigger and will now be shared with nine member associations.

The Council heard that the CSSA is getting lots of applications for its new awards, which will be presented at the show. It was also confirmed that the seminar programme is now finalised.

In a very busy meeting the Council considered an application for funding from the Domestic Cleaning Alliance, and heard from the DCA’s Stephen Munton about self- employment in the sector.

The board also approved a letter to be sent to one of the Ministers responsible for Brexit, emphasising the need for consultation with the industry during negotiations.

Looking ahead to 2017 the Council discussed plans to celebrate its 35th anniversary. A special logo will be used throughout the year, with other promotions planned to mark the important milestone.

The meeting finished with a light lunch, and the Council would like to express its warmest thanks to Simon Forrester and his team at the BPCA for their hospitality.
