GOLF AT DONNINGTON VALLEY

The 18-hole golf course is laid out around the Clubhouse, Snelsmore House, and provides a challenging 6,353 yard, par 71 course of rolling parkland, with special green fees for hotel guests. Bring your clubs for the Friendship challenge at Christmas – a 9-hole tournament organised by the Pro on Christmas Eve – or to play a round on Boxing Day (extra charges, payable locally).

ROOMS

The smart rooms boast a marble bathroom and a really comfortable double bed dressed with Egyptian cotton sheets. All rooms have coffee/tea tray, bottled water, new wide screen TVs, WiFi (extra charge) and a laptop-sized safe as well as individually-controlled heating/air-con.

Executive rooms (at a supplement) also have a mini fridge with fresh milk for your coffee/tea, a bath robe and slippers plus a view of the golf course.

WHERE IS IT? Donnington Valley is about three miles from Newbury and is easy to reach by air (Heathrow is an hour up the M4), by rail (Newbury station is a £6 to £8 taxi ride) and by road (5 minutes from J13 of the M4).

WELCOME! We have three superb breaks at the hotel this winter: Christmas, New Year and Valentine’s weekend. Our exclusive dinners are a great opportunity to dress up: black tie or smart suit for gentlemen, and plenty of sparkle for ladies! But it’s not all about the nightlife: how about a country walk to the ruined Donnington Castle and the River Lambourn. Don’t forget a swimsuit for the pool!

On every break you can expect good food, fine wine and fun, but nothing is forced and there’s plenty of opportunity to take time out for yourself. Early booking is recommended, so turn the page to see our range of breaks, with dates and prices.

Executive rooms additionally offer 3Golf course view 3Mini fridge with complimentary fresh milk and water
