that, in 1930, the collection is ultimately reassembled in its entirety.
During a specially organised ‘Vivaldi Week’, held in Sienna in 1939,
a selection of Don Vivaldi’s music is brought back to life after
nearly two hundred years in obscurity.
Alberto Gentili, however, is not to witness this festive
resurrection. New anti-Semitic laws, introduced by Mussolini the
previous year, have by now excluded and closed the Jews off from
the rest of society.
