2 This month in The Window...

We read about the many ways in which the parish as a whole and individual church members are involved in initiatives locally to proclaim the gospel.

If you have The Window delivered and haven't yet

renewed your subscription, it's not too late. Just drop £5 or more into the office marked The Window.

Next month read about ministry among older people and care homes.

News from the Parish

Open the Book On Sunday 7 May at the 10.30 service at St Helen’s, the first reading will be a dramatic presentation of the story of Noah’s Ark in the style of the ‘Open the Book’ programme. For further details or to take part, please contact Mary Williamson or Carol Worthington.

Easter services Thank you to everyone who helped to make Easter such a happy and holy time in all three churches. At St Helen’s on Easter Eve we welcomed Ceinwyn, her family and spon- sors, as we celebrated her baptism.

East Africa Famine Appeal Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Parish Special Collection for the Disasters Emergency Committee East Africa Famine Appeal on Sunday 2nd April which raised over £550

Stewarding and updated guide book From Easter Day until mid-September, St Helen’s will be open each day from 11.00 – 13.00. Two stewards are needed each day to welcome visitors – if you can help either regularly or occasionally, please contact the office or see Elizabeth Simpson. There is now an updated guide book for St Helen’s – copies are available in church and on the St Helen’s web- site (in several languages).

The events in Abingdon organised by the Church-in-Abingdon for this week will centre on the Market Place Sale - Saturday 13 May 2017 - and the town-wide House-to-House Collection.

Donations for the Market Place will be much appreciated - home-made cakes, plants, second-hand books and bottles, etc.

Volunteers also needed to join the band of house-to-house collectors. For further information, contact your church rep or Cliff Marshall on 01235 530480 or at candpmarshall@btinternet.com.
